The Megabass New DOG-X Speed Slide is the updated generation of one of Megabass’ most influential topwater designs.

Developed to expand on the fast walking action of the original DOG-X, the Speed Slide produces a responsive high-speed dog walk combined with sharp quick slide-and-turn action. Its compact profile makes it easy to work quickly across open water, weed edges and shallow structure.

High-Speed Dog-Walking Action

The DOG-X Speed Slide is designed for a faster retrieve cadence than many traditional walking baits.

With repeated downward twitches and steady line recovery, the lure cuts quickly from side to side. Anglers can maintain a tight walking action or use stronger rod inputs to create wider sliding turns and sudden directional changes.

This makes it particularly effective when bass are actively chasing baitfish or when anglers need to search large areas of surface water.

See-Saw Balancing System

The internal See-Saw Balancing System updates the engineering used in the original DOG-X.

The balancing system helps the lure respond immediately to rod movement, producing controlled transitions between rapid walking, sliding and turning actions. Megabass designed the lure to remain easy to control with both lighter slow-taper rods and more powerful medium-heavy equipment.

Water-Through Gill Design

Megabass’ patented Water-Through Gill structure helps the compact body grip the water during each turn.
