Raid Japan Dodge

The RAID JAPAN DODGE is a large winged topwater crawler engineered to maintain a smooth, controlled action even during extremely slow retrieves.

While its 114mm profile creates substantial surface presence, its body balance allows it to move naturally without requiring excessive retrieve speed. The result is a deliberate crawling presentation suited to shallow cover, weed edges, calm flats and low-light conditions.

Ultra-Slow High-Pitch Rolling Action

The DODGE’s primary strength is its ability to maintain a consistent rolling action at very low speed.

Its body has a nearly circular cross-section, combined with weight positioned low inside the lure. This improves posture recovery and helps the DODGE continue rolling smoothly from side to side without losing balance.

Retrieve it slowly while maintaining light line tension. The wings grip the surface and generate repeated movement even when the lure travels only a short distance, allowing it to remain near productive cover longer.

Metal Wing Surface Disturbance

The two folding metal wings catch the water during the retrieve, creating a combination of surface wake, splash and metallic sound.

At medium speed, the DODGE produces a more aggressive traditional crawler action. At slower speeds, the wings create a tighter, rhythmic disturbance that can appeal to pressured fish or bass reluctant to chase faster-moving topwater lures.

Stable Full-Size Profile

The DODGE is carefully balanced through its body shape, waterline position, internal weight placement, line tie and wing geometry.

These elements work together to help the large lure restart smoothly after pauses and maintain a controlled surface posture during the retrieve. RAID JAPAN recommends braided line and a snap to preserve the lure’s responsive action.

Feather-Dressed Treble Hooks

The DODGE is equipped with feather-dressed treble hooks that add movement behind the lure.

The feather material continues to pulse and expand when the lure pauses, adding a secondary visual target near the rear hook. Current retailer specifications consistently identify feathered hooks as part of the standard DODGE configuration.
