Description
The SK-POP Grande Hiramura Custom is a tuned topwater popper created with Lake Biwa guide Naoya Hiramura to target big bass around cover. It retains what made the original SK-POP Grande special—a stable horizontal floating posture and a deep, low-pitched popping sound—then upgrades the hardware and balance so you can fish it harder where big fish live.
Why this “Hiramura Custom” is different
Upgraded hook power: Uses a hook that is one size larger with thicker wire for better holding power on heavy fish and in cover.
Re-balanced to keep it floating right: Bigger, thicker hooks add weight and can make a popper sit lower. Jackall adjusted the internal weight so it still maintains the signature horizontal float and sound.
Built for the bite window: The deep “POP” and water push help call fish up, especially when you need presence over sparse grass edges, laydowns, docks, and shade lines.
How to fish it (practical guide)
Pop–Pause (search mode): Make a sharp pop to spit water, then pause 1–3 seconds. Most bites happen on the pause.
Two-pop cadence (trigger mode): Pop-pop, then a longer pause. Great when fish follow but won’t commit.
Walk & chug (pressure fish): Short, controlled pops with slack line to keep it in place and “chug” without moving too far.
Recommended setup
Rod: 6’6”–7’2” Medium / Moderate-Fast (topwater friendly)
Line: 30–40lb braid to leader, or 12–16lb mono (mono keeps it floating higher)
Use case: Big-bass topwater around cover—when you need louder presence and stronger hook security.
