Description
Megabass POP-X Topwater Popper (64mm, Floating)
Megabass POP-X is a high-response topwater popper designed for pressured fish and clear-water scenarios. With short twitches on slack line, it can pop and spit like a traditional popper—then shift into a tight, rolling “walk” that keeps the bait in the strike zone longer around key targets.
At the core is Megabass’ Side-Stepping Balancer system, which helps the POP-X roll and walk with minimal forward travel. Combined with gill-style water ducts that pass water through the body, POP-X produces a more natural surface disturbance and a consistent “spit” with each twitch.
Recommended Setup
– Rod: 6’6”–7’2” Medium to Medium-Light, fast tip (accurate casting + easy twitches)
– Line: 10–15 lb braid + leader, or 8–12 lb mono/fluoro (mono helps keep it higher on the surface)
– Retrieve: keep a small amount of slack and work with wrist twitches
How to Fish POP-X (3 proven cadences)
1) Twitch–twitch–pause: tight spit + roll, great for calm water
2) Walk-in-place: short twitches to keep it near docks, shade lines, and isolated cover
3) Pop-and-go: one sharp pop, then 2–4 seconds pause (excellent when fish follow but won’t commit)
Where it shines
– Calm flats, shade lines, and clear-water shorelines
– Grass edges, points, docks, and shoreline cover
– When bass are pressured and need a smaller, precise topwater
Color Guide (quick pick)
– Natural baitfish (Ayu-style): clear water / sunny days
– Bluegill tones: around grass, docks, or when panfish are present
– Dark / high-contrast patterns: low light, stained water, or windy chop
– Limited / special colors: when you want something different for pressured fish

FAQ
Q: Is POP-X better as a popper or a walker?
A: Both—use sharp pops for splash and bubbles, then switch to short slack-line twitches for a tight roll-walk.
Q: When should I pause it?
A: Pause after a miss, near cover, or when fish are tracking behind it.
Q: Can I fish it in wind?
A: Yes, but use a slightly faster cadence to keep it moving and audible; in heavy chop, consider sizing up to a larger topwater.
Q: What species does it target?
A: Designed with bass in mind, but it can also draw strikes from other aggressive predators when they’re feeding up.
